I was hoping that someone would be able to help me out. I want to turn a few xboxes into some renderers for 3ds max on my network. Any suggestions? I was hoping that I could install windows 2K on to it and then go from there.

the cost and time of doing that to multiple xboxes is much much more than buying an extra dual processor computer which would crush them in terms of rendering performance and probabily be the price of two xboxen

As far as I know this is either not possible or extremely difficult...never heard of anyone successfully installing windows on an xbox, only linux and that has limited functionality.

Why would you even want to try this when they only have 733 mhz PIIIs?

And they have very little ram...you can pick up cheap lindows pcs for just a little more than an xbox.

more like mobile celerons without the mobile part. You can run windows on them though. Install linux then use vmware. I've seen people do that.
