LSI SCSI RAID resynctime takes 36 hours?

i have formatted 2 scsi 10000rpm 36gb in the scsi raid bios.
i have have put them in raid 1 mode.
the status screen says 'out of sync' and changes to 'resyncing'
and it has been about 24 hours already resyncing

i called the tech support and they told me it takes about an hour per gb to resync so that would mean 36 hours to resync :eek:

is this normal?

When we perform any kind of raid modificaition on our server it always takes hours to complete.

do you have your os or any other write activity goin on to the array during this. lsi's tech support probobly assumes you are keeping the system up while rebuilding.
