Connecting Old ATA HDD with New SATA HDD

I just got my new computer and would like to forgo the painful process of downloading and installing everything again. Where can I learn to install my Seagate Barracuda ATA 40gb and set it up so I have all my music, apps and game that I can either transfer over or run from it?
