i dont know if the service applies to everywhere but i m from NYC if that helps

ok, the thing is i have earthlink cable right now... im paying like $55 per month for it

i see a verizon dsl commercial featuring dsl for $30... it also comes with a free wireless router but that deal ended today so screw the router

i m not sure what other info is needed but i just know i have earthlink cable and verizon dsl and i want to know which is better in terms of quality such as bandwith, upload and download speed or whatever its called, etc etc

thanks

Find out specifics on the download and upload speed.

The difference could be night and day..

I know I'd prefer 3mbit down and 512 up compared to 1.5 down and 128 up.

also, i would like to know about the quality of a dsl connection if more than one computer uses it at the same time

More than one computer on the SAME dsl model? It would be affected the same as a cable connection.

People say cable in an AREA slows down if a lot of people are subscribed, although I call BS on that as I use cable in an INSANELY populated area and have max speeds at all times.

Just find a fast download server and see if it maxes at roughly your supposed speed.

For instance, I've got 1.5/512, so my usual max download of ~164KBps comes out to 1300Mbps, pretty much right on target (once you factor in network overhead, collisions, and such)
