should I use sony vaio recovery or use winxp cd?

I don't know if this recovery shit for this laptop is any good or if windows update cators to everything I would need for a laptop I always hated the hp restore cd but this could be good it's directly on the HD already what do you guys think?

Use the recovery CD and parse out the BS programs from their load, getting the drivers alone from Sony is a PIA for the Viaos (1/2 sized laptop right?). Windows update probably won't have the drivers (didn't for the ones we have), probably because they never got the drivers WHQL certified for such a small line. Also, you would have to burn the NIC drivers to a CD, just to load them, if it's like the models we have, the NIC will not get detected.

BTW, this is one of the few cases I would recommend to use a OEM recovery disk, to someone in the know.
