Is it possible to install this with just the first two discs, instead of all four? Will it be sufficient for programming enviornment / chat / word processing / surfing / music?

Will this include gAIM or will I need to download it? (Can someone find me a link with what is included on each disc)

nope - I did install this with only the 3 disks.

It never asked me for the last one so you can do 3 instead of 4 but not 2 instead of 3.

Poor disc layout...

You should be able to do a minimal install off 1 disc; not spread the base system over 3 discs.

hmm , i'm gonna install it with just disc 1 + 2 , hopefully that wll include KDE or something.

It's taken over the Redhat bloat, I see! All I needed my second slackware disc for was KDE. Redhat has always needed way too many discs, and has always carried too much crap around with it.

If there's one thing Microsoft has done right, it's keep the installation down to one disc.
