If you already saw my other threads, you know that im a noobie :P

I was wondering what the hell is memory timing such as 2-2-2-2 or 2-2-4-2

And what is the difference between a value select ddr512 3200 and a corsair or other brand but the same model? does it worth the money!?!?

Im currently buying a new rig, but as long as i wait, i discover new things on this formum and i want to upgrade my rig because i dont want to waste my money on bad pieces....

so what do you guys think

Usually, when you see memory timings specified as 2-2-2-6 or something similar, the first number corresponds to the CAS Latency, the second to the RAS-to-CAS delay, third to the RAS Precharge delay, and the final number to the Active to Precharge time or Cycle Time. The lower these numbers are, the better, usually. On nForce2 motherboards, an Active to Precharge time of around 11 is often better than 6 (that's a BIOS setting, however).

The difference between 512MB of value select PC3200 and Corsair memory of the same size and speed comes down to the timings each of those DIMMs have. Also, Corsair has a great reputation for quality, so part of the difference in cost is because Corsair makes sure these DIMMs are of good quality before shipping them.
