I bought some memory the other day, corsair value select kit 2x512 pc3200, I have an msi 848p neo motherboard, when I installed the memory, the computer wouldn`t boot up, well the screen was blank, I took one of the sticks out and it booted up fine, so I switched it off and swapped the sticks around in the slots, wouldn`t boot up again, so I left one in, wouldn`t boot again, took it out and put the other one in and that wouldn`t boot either, so now neither sticks work. I don`t know much about memory or motherboards, but I did check this memory was compatible before buying it. My cheap pc2100 memory works fine, could I have 2 dodgy sticks of memory or do I have to change some settings somewhere in the bios!

did you try reseting CMOS any of the times ?

if you had it forcing pc2100 speeds it might have caused a prob

probably not the mem if neither work now ...

who knows

what does happen when you reset your CMOS anyway?? Does it default all your settings or something like that??

I don't know much about CMOS and stuff so I am just curious here, hehe.
