Like the title says. I have XP on one disk and FreeBSD5.1 on the other. I installed the bootmanager on both drives (during FreeBSD setup) and now when the computer boots it says something like:

F1: ???
F5: Disk 1

*So I try F1...nothing...I hit F2, I get this*

F1: ???
F2: FreeBSD 5.1
F5: Disk 0

F1 does nothing. When I hit return it returns no errors and I can not type anymore. I can boot into BSD just fine. How can I go about fixing this? Should I/can I install a better boot loader? I might be installing Gentoo tonight over the BSD install...if I put in lilo or grub, will it pick back up on WinXP?

There's a couple things you can do to fix this problem. First, you can try running /stand/sysinstall, editing the partition table, making the Windows partition bootable and then writing/quitting without making any other changes. You should then be prompted to install a boot manager; I'd pick the FreeBSD default.

If you just want to get Windows working, you might try booting from the XP CD and using the rescue console to fixmbr/fixboot.
