How's this?

I know it is *only* 420 watts, and its in Australian dollars, and its an Australian site (its not that bad. Really!), but it is a good brand and has all the features and more. Check out the specs!

how does that compare with the zalman 400 watt and the antec silent power supplies?

I'll be honest: I have no idea. The features look good, and they make good power supplies. I can't find any tech reports and comparisons, although i might not be trying [H]ard enough

Whatever you do stick with a good one and don't cheap out. Good names include Enermax, Antec, and Zalman! Antec's are pretty good bang for the buck!

That's debatable, but anyway.....

Well the zalman is going to be the quietest.

Who can say? It depends on the load you put on it anyway. But genereally the quieter the hotter

Seasonic power supplies are among the leading power supplies recommended by the silent PC enthusiasts. That's because they use good components, large heatsinks, and quiet fans. Their claim of 70% efficiency is impressive, and will lead to lower power dissipation and heat. All reports I've read say that it has good voltage regulation, too.

I really don't think so. I had a cheapo brand 330w in my rig about a year ago. It gave me lots of problems. After installing my antec 430w. Temps on everything went down and my system was alot more stable. Pretty much every PSU I have ever replaced has been a cheapo.

You're looking right at the Antec TruePower430. Do consider the Enermax Noisetaker series though.

Enermax Noisetaker,
I have an Antec TruPower 430W PSU... it is not exactly cool and not really that quiet either. I like the fan only header, it runs two of my three Zalmann 92mm case fans, don't plug your CPU fan in though! I was thinking of replacing the 80mm fan in it for a Panaflo M series to quiet it down. The 80mm fan is the loudest thing in my system (Thermalright and Vantec Stealth 80mm on CPU/NMB 80mm fan blowing on oversized heatsink for 9600 Pro)
You could go to www.silentpcreview.com for reports on quite a few power supplies tested under load and with noise readings. Very good site if you want to quiet the computer down.

try this article out http://www.anandtech.com/showdoc.html?i=1841

Actually, don't. The author of that article shouldn't be writing about PSUs because he is not qualified whatsoever.

Just because it's done under the AnandTech name doesn't mean that the article was well-written by a credible author.

Read the comments for the article, if you dare.

I recommend the AMS Mercury 460W, only $54 and it's silent along with good build quality.

Any reason for reviving a more than one year old thread?
