512 Mb Dual Channel vs 1Gb in 4 slots...

Okay here is my question I have 4 sets of Dual Channel RAM totalling 512Mb per set...

Of course now I I'm down to two systems due to circumstances out of my control. (a.k.a Wife needing a server and workstation).

Would a system be faster running 4 slots full of 256Mb RAM or just keep it the way it is now in the 2 Dual Channel Slots?

2 RAM banks filled is faster than 4 RAM banks filled in benchmarks, but I'm not sure you'd ever "feel" the difference.

Thanks for the response... it would be for gaming but I think I'll go ahead an install it since Hell its mine and and its sitting there useless on my desk.

interesting enough, on every 865,875P ive built, ive found for benchmarks 4banks > 2 banks for performance, ive verifyied this with sandra and memtest.
