Depends if you include mail-in rebates or not... I know there were 9800 Pro's all over for around $200 not too long ago... provided that you don't think the 9800 Pro suggestion is BLASPHEMY ;). Check http://www.slickdeals.net, http://www.hotdlz.com, http://www.rasputinj.com, http://www.techdeals.net, http://www.fatwallet.com, etc... for normal product pricing, check http://www.pricewatch.com and http://www.pricegrabber.com. Good luck, and remember that the next-gen cards WILL drop the price of the older ones.

If you arnt satisfied with that? being that it is a pretty decent card. then the only thing i could recomend that would perform alittle better for under $250
Is a 9800Pro!
Here's some good prices on. PriceWatch (http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=704418/search=9800pro/)

Although I don't like to admit it, the 9800 pro is the best bang for the buck out right now, with prices around $200. That's what I paid for my old 5700 Ultra back in January. But dont count that 5900 out. If you get a good overclocker, you can get 5900 Ultra performance out of it.

Dude, I wish I had a 5900! I recently upgraded from a GeForce 2 to an FX5700. It may not be a Lamborghini, but a Porsche is still fast. Imho, wait a while till the upcoming PCI-Express situation sorts itself out, then it'll be time for everyone to go through the usual upgrades of sound, vid, ram & Mobo.
If you want a regular 5900 (with VIVO!) instead of that 5900XT, you can get the BFG 5900 here (http://www.gameve.com/gve/store/productdetails.aspx?sku=VC-BFG-002) for $187 shipped.
Mine overclocks to 475/950 (from 400/850) with the stock BIOS and cooling. It goes even higher with the 5950U BIOS flashed on it.

If you flash to 5950U; you can't use VIVO because neither the Gainward nor LeadTeK cards have that, and those are the only two BIOS ROMs available to the public.

It's not like BFG doesn't make a 5950U. And yes, I know for a FACT that VIVO works after flashing since I've done it myself.

thats why you do like I did and use BFG 5950 BIOS on my BFG 5900nu :)
then had a member here modify the speeds so my stock clock speeds are higher than normal, and still retains the VIVO last I checked...but I never mess with it so i never got in depth with it.....the leadtek and gainward BIOS were not the only ones around my friend :)
Actually a while back i posted a link that had everything from evga to xfx

It's "around." If you know the thread (not here) that was collecting all available BIOS images, you can find it. Sorry, I am not distributing it.
