Do you think it would be alright to add a stick of Corsair ValueRam to my Corsair XMS ram (see sig)? Or should i spend the cash and get the XMS to match?

i not really a fan of mixed ram. i would go for another stick of xms. valueram would probably work fine, but your still taking a chance there. up to you but id say go xms again.

IMHO mixing ram isnt a good idea. Random errors that occur almost always come from RAM. I would put up the extra cash to get the xms.

Mixing ram is fine. But your memory can only run as fast as the slowest stick. Mixing brands is fine too. Dunno what you guys been smoking.

I agree. One bad stick of XMS can be a hell of a lot worse than a good stick of ValueRAM. See sig.

It's usually not an issue with regular boards, but if ou get into high end server boards that need registered ECC ram the system can go haywire if you mix and match brands and speeds. I know this from lots of personal experience...
