I currently have 2 256mb ddr400 pc3200 kingston hyperX in dual channel on a P4P800 mobo and I want to upgrade to a gig of ram. I know my mobo can run dual channel with 4 slots filled.

I am not sure if I should buy another 2 sticks of the same ram, or sell my current ram and buy 2 512mb pc4000 ddr500 ram.

I have a p4 2.4c on the P4P800, how high would I have to set the fsb to run at ddr500? And is it really worth it, or a gig of ddr400 would run just as good?

I havent overclocked my PC yet, not sure if I will.

I'm a fan of HyperX, but I would sell you current RAM and get 2x512 of PC-whatever you want to overclock to

Mijae, I would use two sticks of 512, in order to decrease any chance of there being a compatibility problem with 4 sticks. My old kr7a-r had 4 slots, but tests showed that most of the time, it wouldnt run with all dimm slots full. If your not going to overclock, then just get two sticks of pc4000 and leave it at that. Running it in dual channel will provide awesome bandwidth, no doubt about it.
