hard drive only showing 30 gigs? but really is 250

what am i doing wrong? i remember something liek this happen with my 120 gig drive i got. but i dont remember how i fixed it can someone please help me out?

BTW the hard drive is a maxtor

What OS?

what filesysetm NTFS? FAT32?
for NT \ W2K\ XP probably all you need to do is
Start > Run > (type) diskmgmt.msc > RClick Unallocated Space > Partition & Format use NTFS
