1 hard drive on sata?

ok i just got a adapter ide to Sata. for my hard drive it came from abit. can i just hook up my 200gb hard drive to it? with out reformating? and have a 20gb on ide?

SATA and IDE are 100% compatible. So you should be able to switch your drive from IDE to SATA just as easily as you can switch it from one IDE port to another. You may have to change your boot order, but that's about it.
