Hey what brands of CD-RW and CD-Rom are good aside from plextor?????!!!
I'm trying to go a bit Cheaper on my CD-RW and CD-ROM cause i really don't burn Cds that often, but i do want quality for the few times i do burn.

I have had an LG for a while now. No issues with them at all. I have been really happy with it. I have barely coastered any cds... most I did were because there was something wrong with the file I was trying to burn. I hear that Lite On's and Sony's are good too.

I have a liteon 52X32X52 and love it. Have not burned one coaster or had any buffer underruns at all since getting this drive.

LiteOn makes the best drives outside of Plextor. On a side note, don't waste your time with a CD-ROM. For $10 more, get a DVD-ROM. You may not watch movies in your PC, but games and software will begin to ship on DVD soon.

I love my TDK VeloCD almost as much as a Plextor. I was going to get a Plextor Premium until I saw the TDK on sale for $50 AR at CompUSA. I have a Plextor 161040 still in use, so I know of what I speak on Plextor quality.
I also have a LiteOn 16x DVD, and I don't think it quite measures on quality of build, compared to Plextor and TDK.

I agree. I can't think of one good reason to buy a CD ROM drive. Can anyone else?
