View Full Version : So...why use PC3200 over PC3500 when ocing AMD?

I know the PC3200 has better timing...but why not just declock the pc3500 a little and drop the timings? wouldnt the chip run better this way then having the pc3200 at the low timings and ocing it?

i uno maybe if you go over 200fsb u'd want pc3500 so you could run at 1:1. but other than that might as well get pc3200

PC3500 = PC3200 with lower timings. PC3500 is more expensive.

pc3200LL can most likely be clocked to pc3500 speeds at looser timings, but pc3500 cannot necessarily be clocked to pc3200LL speeds AND timings.

however, pc3500LL kinda kicks ass for overclocking athlon systems.
