Hi,

I want to install Linux within an extended partition on my hard drive. I have the partitions all set up, I just don't know what hda to point Linux to during the install. I know that hda0-hda3 are primary partitions or something like that. My friend was trying to explain to me how to do it, but I just decided to ask you all. I was going to do a Slackware 9 install. I've included a screenshot from PartitionMagic. Any help is appreciated. Thanks,

Todd

Looks like hda6 is swap, and hda7 would be root.

I think it would be like this...

(c:) - hda1
(*) - hda3
(d:) - hda4
Swap -hda5
Linux - hda6
