Well havn't I been inqusitive lately?

Anyways... I want to install new mouse cursors!

The problem -_- :
I downloaded some new icons from KDE-Look ^_^
And weeeeelll I've tried to install the theme into ~/.icons/default and the lot... some of the cursors worked (the hand and the working in the bg one) while others didn't.

***EDIT***
Actaully it doesn' matter where I put it, KDE freezes whenever it tries to reload with the new theme.

*****

I tried to put the theme directly into the /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/icons/ folder but then KDE froze when it rebooted...

How the heck do you install X11 mouse cursors properly?!

Thanks!
^_^

PS: I am running SuSE 9.0...

I just tried it again:

1. I downloaded the "jimmac" theme
2. made a folder ~/.icons
3. put the index.theme in ~/.icons/default along with the cursors folder
4. then when I rebooted KDE froze when trying to load 'peripherials'
5. so I had to manually delete to ~/.icons folder under the failsafe boot

There are some notes in the follow-ups about suse if you look at the 3 animated xcursors themes (blue glass, silver, gold).

I also have a problem with one of these themes under a custom Debian spinoff. It worked in a previous version of my distro, but after updating, now some of the cursors from the theme work but some are the default theme (resize arrows, hand, normal cursor any time its hovering over a browser or terminal). Must be some update to xfree I think which broke those fabulous cursor themes....
