Alright heres the deal. My mom upgraded to a new laptop so i get her old one. The only problem is that it has a SpeedStream 1001 or SS1001 USB ethernet adaptor. Now the only way i found to install SuSE is from the ftp, but i cant get the installation to work with the USB adaptor to access the ftp and install. I dont even know where to start, i looked for drivers but had no luck. Can anyone point me to a site or give me some pointers on how to get SuSE on this machine?

if you really want to go through the HORROR that is suse :), all you have to do is mirror the FTP tree (try the chicago site). Mirror it in a folder, i recommend C:\suse. Make sure the directory structure is kept in tact. After you finish that (it will take a while), start the boot.iso CD you should have burned :D and select manual install. Then find your way to Harddrive install instead of FTP. As directory type in suse and your on your way. I used this method myself......on sunday. :D
i downloaded core FTP lite for this purpose, its a free FTP client, but any FTP client will speed this up, just drag and drop and wait
