Using my Windows XP Proffesional disc, i reformat about once every 2 months or so. Every single time, i get an error message during install that says "Error copying file catsrv.dll Retry?" i select no and then a "Com+ exception ..........catsrv.dll couldnt install" or something close comes up. What is this and how do i fix it? Thanks much for any insight

Well you say it happens every time so would we be correct in assuming that you've already found a way to get around it? As for the error itself, maybe a scratched disk or an older cd-rom drive. Chances are you can talk to microsoft and get another cd easily (another cd-key = not so easy).

yes i get around it by skipping the file...everything seems to be fine, but sys restore dosent work. How would i get a new disc?

You can just use someone elses disk if you want. Hell, burn a copy of one and use that. You bought the license for winxp. Using someone else's disk is perfectly legal.

If you don't have a legitimate license, you need to find another warez version somewhere, but I would advise just getting a legit one. With the licensing stuff built into xp and windows update it's hardly worth the effort of trying out most pirated versions.

Then I would suggest not mentioning it, mentioning use warez being a bannable offense.

Well, yeah, that's why I suggested just getting a legit copy. Regardless of moral or legal issues, it ain't worth it to pirate it. I had no desire to engage in an ethical debate, that's why I phrased it as I did.

Sorry if my wording wasn't quite what I was hoping for.
