Hey [H] gang I guess I will come to you now. I have a problem where my cs freezes, and it crashes. I get a weird Report bug to Microsoft window?? And yeah. I think its when two sounds are played at one time. I have tried a new sound card but I still get it..

Anyone ever have this?

I had this problem also, to fix try the following

Go into options, then Audio, and uncheck the EAX or A3D boxes, restart HL and play.

Good Luck

Did you check the sound control panel in Windows to make sure that your osund card is the default playback device? Make sure that your sound card is selected check that box at the bottom to make it default.

Onboard audio turned off in BIOS?

I did have an issue a while back with CS crashing my computer (Win98SE). I was using a Plantronics DSP 500 USB Headphones that actually decoded sound, making the sound card not needed. However, even with the above sound setting set to USB device with in the control panel and set as default, the sound card driver (turtle beach santa cruz) was causing a conflict crashing the system.

I am sure this is not your problem, but maybe it will give you some food for thought to help you figure wout what might be wrong.
