Hey, looks like we have the same exact desks. Instead of resting my case on the lowest level, I just took both those metal plates out and rested the case on the floor. For my new case (midsize) I'm gonna put one level abck and rest it on that.

Anyways, about the desks. I hate them. I want one of those IKEA Jerkers. I mean this thing is cool with the shelves and stuff, but it's just too small, even when you have 2 bolted togeher (which I do - it's in an "L" shape"

this one kinda looks like a Cooler Master...

it is a coolermaster, but in all reality it is the same exact case with a different front on it. that side panel was the one at newegg for $7 with shipping and is ment for the antec/chieftech/chemming cases, so in a way mine has parts from one of those three, and it is based off of the same case...

Well, I won the raidmax at a lan party and really like it. The exhaust on the case needed some work, but the paint was sweet. I really like my Antec and Antec clones though; they are a classic case.

It looks pretty darn good the way it is. Paint the inside of the case--maybe Dupli-Color Metalcast, but just the ground coat so it looks silver anodized. That would look great with your blue case.

Holy shit thats hot curiousgeorge! Where did you get the paint and how hard was the painting?

I got the paint from Lowes its the neon construction paint (the paint they mark the pavement with identifying utility lines underground) I think its called "tuff" I put a couple layers of the green on, then a couple clearcoat. The green and clear came as spray paint, it wasnt hard at all to paint, just couldn't stay in on place to long because that paint is realy heavy and it woulds leave runs. I got some neo blue paint from a local craft store, and painted the ridges.. that took some time and many coats to cover the green. The prep for the painting was simply to layer what ever i didn't want painted with tape :D

You'll have to cut out a small section in the drive cage though. A bit of work but worth it. I saw someone else with a setup like this and I had to try it.

i tried, didnt work. went with dual 92mm Nexus 19db fans instead. Had to make some holes for em, they work, but will probably have to cut the whole section out and make a new panel.
The 120 wouldnt even fit between the recessed area for the board interfaces and the edge of the case.

yeea well the ones with the 80mm exhaust arent easily moddable to 120mm bc of the lil space they put next to the I/O port but the chenming version of the SX600 series hav the 120mm exhaust

Nothin special, I got kinda of to busy for case modding, so my dimond Tread plate case mod has been collecting dust in the garage for a wile now. This case is my temp case untill i get-r-done. Allthough after adding the handles, 120mm to the front, and the homebrew HDD cage so my case can hold all 5 HDDs I have grown to really like this box for its functionality. Im going to add sounds dampering to it next.

good mobo in there, I had a nf7 at a 2600M runnign 2.7Ghz, and swaping to that AN7 the same chip ran 2.9 stable 100% and would run windows all day at 3ghz.. (jsut no games)

Wow you guys really think that the NF7-S is a good board. I have one and I had much better luck running my ASUS A7V266-C. The Abit has caused me nothing but problems from day one, but its one of those things that it will fix itself for awhile and then suddenly, it decides to take a shit. On top of that I opened the case the other day to do my monthy cleaning and noticed that the northbridge fan had stopped. :eek: It is completely dead, unfortunately, and I really see no reason to fix it as I will be building a new computer fairly soon here.
But here is an example of something that seems to happen for about a week once every couple of months. I will get spontaneous shutdowns. When I go and check the Abit log to see what all the voltages are at to try and figure out what went wrong, they are all fine usually within +/- .05v. Now to my knowledge that isnt enough to cause the shutdowns. I have nothing specific I am doing, I can be playing a game, writing a paper, checking my email, it is truly random. I have pulled of the heatsink and reapplied thermal paste thinking maybe i had put too much on the first time. I dont overclock (I have a 2100+ pally)and dont have anything major running off my plugs or in my computer. The only reason I changed from my Asus 266 was because I had planned on getting a Barton to add to the NF7 but never got around to it, and then had a family set back that didnt allow it.

Anyways any suggestions on the above subject of the crashes/spontaneous shutdowns would be helpful.

Sounds like you got one of a very few bum boards or its "user error" of some kinds. The Nf7s were great boards (the latest Nf7-S2's sucked ass)

Also not that he dose not have a NF7 and note that I wasnt talking about a NF7. Im talking about the board he has, the AN7.... Witch was one of the best socket A baords ever. (next to the DFI offerings)

Anyways, 2002 is when I got the case, then got a windowed side for it the next year.. anyways.. it was an xp2100 on an MSI K7N2-L with 1gb corsair and a 9700 pro.. adaptech raid card, 4x60gb drives RAID0+1 and one 80gb system drive. woooooooo! hot shit for that day. :D

I later slapped an xp2600 in there and a 6600 GT and it's STILL ALIVE! lol. I am typing on it right now.. heh

1 suggestion when using the foam, you don't start noticing a difference until you use a lot, so don't think that putting sound dampening on the solid side panel is going to do you justice.
