View Full Version : HD wont format?

i installed serious sam 2 and after a restart i got a currupt file so i ran chkdsk and i thought it fixed the problem. a restart later my computer wont boot. i took the hd out and tried to format it in one of my other computers but when i try to format it stays @ 0%. even when i try to install windows on it when it goes to format it stays @ 0%.

ive never had this happen before and i am stumped on what to do. im gonna rma it newegg but id like to try everything i can first before i do. any suggestions?

Maybe try using Fdisk and then delete all partitions. After that, recreate them and do a format. See if that works. Sounds really weird that you are having problems formatting though.

and if you cant find one, get the one maxtor has. it fixed 24k of bad sectors on my drive. great prog.
