Dual monitors, extending start bar to 2nd monitor...how?

I have an additional monitor running off of my laptop. I have extended the desktop to the other monitor, but the start menu remains solely on my laptop lcd...so, all of the programs that are open stay on that lcd too, regardless if I move them to the 2nd monitor. Is there a way to extend my start bar too, so taht the programs running on that monitor rest in the start bar on that monitor?

for starters, both monitors need to be the same resolution. if you have an nvidia based vid card on the laptop, the drivers have nView which has the option for a horizontal span, which is probably what you want

acutally they dont have to be the same resolution.
