View Full Version : WD Raptor 36.7GB
how fast is the WD Raptor 36GIG compared to the WD SE drives? Does make your computer boot up twice as fast? does it make installs a lot faster? does it make games load faster then with 7200RPM 8mb cache drives?

I love mine! When I go to do a defrag with the XP defragmenter (20gb used) it usually takes about 20 minutes at the most compared to the 40-60 minutes with my old 7200rpm.

I was thinking of getting one too, but not sure if it's worth it cause of the small size. Is the move noticable from 7200 rpm > 36GB or 7200 rpm > 74GB raptor?

I would get the 74gb raptor for its size and speed. But since I didn't want to spend that much money on it, I got the 36gb for my main programs/OS and some 7200rpm's for backup. So far it seems to be efficient
