Is there a problem?
You shouldn't have any trouble at all running those.

about the only problem you might run into is if they both have OEM versions of software for burning, you probbaly can't have both installed at once.
I have a CD-RW with nero, and a DVD+-RW with nero, but I can only have one installed, thus only supporting one drive. At least without getting the full version of nero.

Haven't worked with an install of Nero lately, but you may be able to "fake it out" by installing it into a separate directory from the normal default, if the setup will allow that - that's how you can run multiple versions of MS Office on the same drive without problems...
Give it a shot, can't hurt...

Yep, in fact I'm using four optical drives right now, one DVD-RW, two DVD-ROMs and a CD-RW drive. Together with two hard drives and I start to run out of places to plug the IDE cables in. I have two of the drives running off a Promise IDE controller. My system tends to slow down when writing data to a drive connected to a controller but otherwise it's fine; I'd recommened connecting read-only drives to controllers if you have that many.
In your case however you shouldn't have any problems running two drives off one cable, just make sure to set the master/slave jumpers on the drives accordingly and you should be fine.

What if you got NERO with a retail boxed CD-RW drive? Will you have the same problems then? I'm looking at adding another CD-RW drive to my system and don't want to run into this problem.

If I remember correctly, nero requires that you select which recorder you will be using to burn, so if one isn't supported, it'll have the red circle with the slash through it anyway, right?
Sorry if I missed something obvious here, but I don't see how having two burners can cause a problem anywhere.

Yes, there will be a red slash through the drive you can't use. You can upgrade these bundled versions of Nero to the full retail version for considerably less than the cost of the full software, over at www.nero.com.

The problems is you have copy A and copy B of software, and burner A and burner B installed.
copy A will only work with burner A copy B will only work with burner B. These are the OEM versions that ship with a boxed retail package drive.
As far as multiple install paths, I tried, but it wanted to remove one before installing the other. I just bought the upgrade to full version..

yes there is the little problem. when burning the other cdrom will xperience some trouble next time you use it. you really shouldnt run two burners in one computer. the next best thing to do would be to buy the combo dvd cd-r / rw -cd-r / rw
