Explain to me why you want a PROGRAM that frees RAM.
If you want to reduce stuff that needs RAM, go into the Services section under Administrative Tools (in Control Panel), and kill off services that you don't need. Then run msconfig and kill of apps that you don't want running.
As for the programs that are still running, they still need RAM, and forcing them into swap file will only degrade your performance—not boost it. As a general rule, you want as MUCH AS POSSIBLE resident in physical memory—when new processes (like games) need memory, Windows is perfectly competent at moving other lower-priority processes into swap.
Point is, if you have RAM, Windows will find a way to use it, unless you've got gigabytes of it.

You can try Cacheman.

If you mean aging, you're just going to have to reboot—if Windows (or another app) were capable of recognizing that stagnant RAM is actually no longer in use, then they would free said RAM. (MS kernel programmers do care about memory usage. ;))

Yeah, there's no program that can fix other program's(or windows') memory leaks. It's usually bad programming that causes it but sometimes it's just windows itself. Only way to fix is to reboot.

MaxMem (http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/system/maxmem.htm) may help

alot of times windows reports the ram as being used, but other programs can come and take it if needed. so, it's nothing to worry about...
what operating system? if XP, then you should have no problems at all. i've had an XP computer up for well over 110 days with no problem.

I do use the classic look however...
the new look is horrifying lol
i prefer XP to 2000, it's got more of a home user feel to it, with all the power of 2k. better for gaming etc. in my opinion. as for theme -- i use a custom one, the default's are hideous.

On the "Hyper Threading works better on XP!" argument, if you use it as a general XP > 2k argument, then it's almost definitely irrelevant to you. It's only relevant when you have two HT-enabled processors in one box; 2k doesn't recognize that 1a and 1b are the same physical processor (therefore splitting threads between those two isn't the smartest thing to do), while XP does.
It is completely irrelevant in a single-processor machine.
WRT gaming, 2k works just fine for me, and I find that I can maintain more uptime on 2k than XP; six weeks (until I powered down to go home for a holiday) as opposed to two.

Well, it isn't a question of if, it certainly is windows 2000 upgraded in functionality, ram efficiency, processor efficiency, and compatibility. It is just better all around ... ONLY because it IS windows 2000, only upgraded :). I loved windows XP PRO, XP home is just crap, I hear.
