Hello,

I am trying to use the external VGA out on my 12" Powerbook and all I am getting is my the background image of my Powerbook. I cannot see the cursor, I cannot even see the Dock. Is there a procedure that you must do to activate this function? I am able to move the mouse and such through the Powerbook (I have the Powerbook open).

Anyone tried using the mirroring with a VGA monitor? I have a Viewsonic A90F+

you might need to go into sys prefs and displays to set it up...it does sound like you are in extended desktop...try moving your mouse to either the right or left hand side of the screen and see if it goes to the other display

You've got it in extended. If you want it mirrored, you can hit the F7 key (it should have a little icon on it of two rectangles, one overlapping the other).
