Should I upgrade my CPU?

I currently have a 1700+ that can run at 2300MHz if I push it hard enough. I just want to know if you guys think it would be worth it to upgrade to a 2600+ Barton that may or may not go up to 2300MHz.

I personally wouldn't upgrade. You're not going to gain any speed by going to a 2600+, that can only run say 2200mhz. Even if you got a cherry picked 2600+ that did, say 2.4ghz, it would only be marginally faster then your 2300mhz now and you'd be hard pressed to notice the difference.

Save your money for a socket 939 Athlon 64.
