Removing the retail Intel HSF

what is the best way to do this that wont damage my chip?


do i lift the two levers up and then what do i do?

the thermal pad was hard when i put it on so id be guessing that itd be holding to the chip, so if i just pulled id be damaging thi chip?

best thing to do is run your comp for 15 mins or so, this should sufficiently heat the compound between your hsf & chip enough to make it easier to remove. Then simply lift off the old unit!
