i guess you figured you needed to restart apache, forgot to mention that :)

lol yeah, after I applied the changes I was like damn this isnt working either then ding ding ding I need to retart apache and voila!

but now that the httpd.conf is all set up, you can change .htaccess files and they will take effect immediately, with no need to restart apache :cool:
