Thanks for the advice, ill give it a shot soon, if not ill exchange this ram for 3500 DDR.

Can someone explain the difference between 1:1 & 5:4 etc, a link would be fine as well :)

Is this ram CH5 or BH5 (this is the ram I have)

its real simple, get some 3500+ ram....

1:1 runs that ram at the same speed as the FSB lets say the FSB is at 210 (slightly OC'd)
FSB speed : RAM speed

1:1 = 210:210 (faster than DDR400) PC3200

5:4 runs the ram slower
5:4 = 210:168 (slightly faster than DDR333) PC2700

3:2 runs the ram a lot slower
3:2 = 210:140 faster than (ddr266) PC2100

When you start overclocking to high FSB's you usually need to use a ratio b/c of the ram failing at very high speeds.

if you had a 533 processor in there you could run at
4:5

which at 133 (533) would run the ram at 166
4:5 = 133:166 (DDR333) PC2700
