getting 5.1ish audio in games to work

I'll try the Digital DIN again, ALthough last time I tried using it I got cracked up sound and not much of it. I'll try it out again though.

DVD ac-3 playback in 5.1 is perfect working using just optical atm.

With the digital cable using the proper adapter to conenct to the audigy digital out: when i set it to fourpoint/5.1din and only multichannel for digital din the light blinks on it. so obviously the signal is working?

Tried getting it working as digital DIN for dolby digital PCM audio (2nd button) it stay lit but at 96khertz sampling rate I got nothing but crackling, 48kh and 44.1 both gave nothing.
