fate of the NEC FP912SB-BK

I ordered my DP930 today from DirectDial. They're still on order from NEC but the guy said there were lots of people waiting for them, so I decided that I'd get my name in there before they were all grabbed up.
Anyway, the guy said it'll take a few days to ship so hopefully it'll show up at my door next week. *excitement*

Dell.ca has them... I was one a budget however so I wound up with a Viewsonic P95fb+. Still good :p

I just scored a FP912SB-BK from a local retailer here in Vancouver...$409 before tax. A-Power computer on Hastings. They did have to special order it. For what it's worth, I believe they got it from IngramMicro.

Awesome monitor...do yourself a favour and hunt one down - it's worth it!

so what is the difference between teh 912 and the 930?

AFAIK there is no difference - just brand. Mitsubishi appeals to a higher-endish market.

The only difference between the two is the name on the front of the bottom bevel. I've got both of them, they're both the same.

Good deal! I doubt they got it from IngramMicro though, cause I can get *sweet* deals from IngramMicro through work. But after much searching, calling sellers, talking to IM it was a no go on either the NEC or Mitsubishi.

Well, I have it, and I love it. But the problem is that, I sadly have a dead pixle in the lower right hand sreen area. The 2 lines running along the screen are annoying in white background, but I never use white, so I am fine. They are completly gone in games.

I had a hard time finding a nec fp912sb in Canada over 6 months ago!! I ended up buying it from directdial also and was glad shipping was only 12 bucks. I must say i'm very impressed with this monitor and it's great. Superbright mode 1 rocks for games. The difference is dramatic...at least to me. If you can still find one, don't hesitate to pick it up.
