i have the strat guide. I was jut wondering what i had to do with aurons sigil...to power it up. Cause i didnt understand what the book said and i was hoping someone could lay it out in easier terms...

You just have to open 10 Area Creation or Species Creation special monsters in the Arena in any combination. To unlock an Area Creation, you capture all the monsters in a particular area, like Besaid Island, Mt Gagazet, or Kilika woods. To unlock a Species Creation, you need to capture all the monsters of a particular species, ie Wolves, Flans or Flying Eyes.
