Hey Guys
I just wanted to know if there was a adapter or cable that can go from 44pin IDE to 40pin IDE? because I bought a 1GB IDE flash module and the motherboard is going on got a regular IDE adapter on it.

Got a link to what you bought? You mean a CF card?

You bought the wrong module :P. 40-pin equivalents are available as well. Depending on the size, it might be easier to just buy another one, these DOMs are pretty cheap.

Adapters are available though. Probably can find something similar much cheaper, but: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812200053

I paid 26 dollars for this 44pin and the 40pin is alot more.

I buy my DOMs here (http://www.memorydepot.com/ssd_diskonmodule.asp). Industrial CF, 40-pin and 44-pin are all pretty much exactly the same price.

Looks like you bought the equivalent size connection to a 2.5" IDE drive which also includes the power connection, hence 44 pins.
So you need a 2.5" to 3.5" IDE adapter that provides a molex adapter for the power.

looks like what I am going to do is just return it and get the correct one.

That won't work. The plug is the wrong gender.

Once again, that won't work as the gender of the adapter is wrong.

Ah yes, of course I checked this, from the picture assumed the 44-pin connector was the male one showing. Oops, good catch.
