Very hot deal. Just throw in a $100 GPU in there and you've got yourself a very nice gaming rig!

Thanks OP!!

1 gig of ram means you need more than just a gpu to make this a gaming rig, and 300w psu is rough, but it's a good email machine that you don't have to pay much for and the monitor is a great value.

RAM is pretty cheap :), and you can use a low-power GPU such as a Radeon 4770 just fine with it I'm sure. Nice deal for the money.

Nice deal, if only for the monitor. Hook it up with a 4770 and another gig of ram at least.

anyone know how well that MB OC's? would be a screaming little mid range rig if it can hit 3.5+ on the proc

Not at all. Dell bios has no overclocking options.

no go for gaming then

2.6ghz Core 2 architecture can still play any game just fine.

There is no guarantee of course that you will go from 2.6GHz to 3.5GHz on stock voltage. Of course you can also pad mod the voltage too.

Like mentioned above, this Penryn-based chip is no slouch at 2.6GHz.

Looks like a great machine, to all the haters, throw in a Video card and some RAM and it will be great. The CPU is good even at stock speeds. The E5300 is no slouch.

My friend just picked up this deal in fact.

The E5300 makes it far from just an email machine...

Not a bad deal. I picked up an Inspiron at Staples the other day for a client that had an E5200, 4GB of RAM, 640GB HDD, and a 22" HD monitor for $500 total. It was a nice package deal.

No crap.

Everyone seems to think if it ain't >=$300 for the CPUalone it's not good for anything. E-mail only machines run 486s. The E2140 in my HTPC is overkill for e-mail, and will play everything but Crysis just fine, when paired with the right VGA+RAM+OS.

No one ever said you need a $300 CPU, but if you can't OC a C2D then your not getting close to it's potential for gaming. Now if this will mod up to ~3.4, it would def rock for a gaming rig with ram/vc upgrade.

this really is a hot deal, not everyone needs to play crysis at 24 x 16 with quad core at 4.5Ghz w $1,000 SLI GPU

looks like the price jumped a bit to $389 still a great deal. Will probably pick a few up for the store. They will sell all day at 499-599 with that monitor and another stick of ram.

I think I'm pointing out the deal is dead, but I'm looking for someone to point out if I'm missing something.

Yeah, you're missing the little box on the right that says it comes with the monitor. It's not a configured option.

I see it now. Thanks for the help. It was way down the bottom there.
