I'm using Windows 7. I don't remember where it's possible to see if a SATA drive is running 1.5 or 3.0. Can someone remind me?

I can't answer your first post...but your second post probably has to do with this thing call SLEEP.

Run a benchmark. If it bursts over 150MB/sec, it's in 3.0

lookup the part number from the hardware properties, pop it in google to see what the specs are?

If its an intel box the little intel utility will say if its running in Gen 1 or Gen 2 mode.

If you actually took the time to read his question then you would realize he wants to know whats it's RUNNING at, not what it's supposed to be running at/specs.

Edit: Sry I read only the actual thread and not the title. It sounds like from the title he might actually want to know the spec of his hard drive interface. I didn't catch it cause it wasn't asked in the actual post, but only in the title of the thread.

I read his question, and between the motherboard and or raid card and the HD(s), you can get where it would be at.

Biostar 6100-939 with a WD640AAKS , you would know you manually had to set the 640gb to 1.5 speed for the HD to work.

or

p5k-e with a WD640AAKS and a 3ware 8006-2LP PCI 64-bit raid card, you would have to check all componets to find out the raid card runs in 1.5.

Check all of the componets before jumping to conclusions.
