Asus 23.6 (24") LCD (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236052)

Anyone use an Asus LCD before? I've actually only owned 1 LCD. That's been for the last 4 years or so now. Which is my 19" Acer LCD. Never had an issue with it at all. Just time to upgrade to something alittle bigger.

You'll be fine with it. It's a standard display, nothing fancy. Good price. Newer TN displays like this usually have very good color (not accurate, but pleasing).

Things to watch for though is a dominant color cast (blue or green usually). This can be fixed by adjusting the RGB values in the display. I'm not saying this one does have a problem, it's just something to look out for. Another thing would be the brightness. Most LCD's like this come blazingly bright out of the box - turn it down most of the way then bring it back to comfortable values.

Otherwise the technical specs are perfectly normal. Given you're not an admittedly technical or demanding user, you won't notice anything wrong with it. In technical reviews like those provided by Xbit Labs, Asus displays consistently perform pretty well for their class.

Be aware of Newegg's return policy first; but if it doesn't bother you go right ahead. The chance of getting dead pixels on modern panels is GREATLY reduced from years previous.

My only other piece of advice is to go to a store like Staples or Best Buy and see for yourself what similar class displays look like and if you have any personal dislikes of either resolution, glare, or readability.

Yeah I got a 150$ gift card for newegg from work so that's why i'm purchasing this from there :)
Which I've never had an issue with them before. I've purchased 3 LCD's from them total 1 for myself other 2 for friends/family. Only 1 had a single dead pixel and that was fixed. So I've been lucky so far!

I would definitely recommend the Asus. I just picked-up the 26"(actually 25.5) because I wanted the 1900x1200 resolution and passed along my Asus 22" to my son. I haven't had a single problem with either one and am very pleased with them. Very clear/crisp.
You won't be disappointed.
