I've been running Widows 7 RC1 for a while now... and ran into my first issue tonight with an M-Audio Fast Track... it's a pain in the ass to get to work apparently. So, I decideded I would installed XP on a different drive and just dual boot between the two, which XP soley for recording. Well, I installed XP, but I have no option to choose which OS I would like to boot. The drive that W7 is installed on is my first boot drive, and i've also tried selecting that in the boot menu, neither will boot W7 or bring up a boot menu... it just boots XP.
Help?

Attempting to setup a dual boot the way you did will not work. You need to install the older OS first then the latest OS. XP has no idea what Win 7 is and as such can not create the proper entries to the boot record.

I believe you can download and install EasyBCD then just use it to rebuild the Vista bootloader (yeah I know win7 but should work the same) and you should then have the option.

MrGreg62 is correct. EasyBCD will solve your problems with the menu.

In Easy BCD Drop down 3 buttons and select the add/remove entries button. You should be able to figure it out from there it's pretty straight forward.

Thanks... but when I try to add XP, it won't let me chose a drive other than C: (which is not the drive XP is on)

Boot off your XP CD and do a repair, it should find the install and add it to the boot menu.

Can you see the XP drive from within Windows 7?
