Hey guys,
I was just wondering if my boot time is normal or if it's slow for my specs. I have Windows Vista Home Premium installed on my computer as well as, Nero 9, Adobe CS4, iTunes, KIS 2009, and MS Office 2003 & 2009. I also have several other video, phone, game, p2p, and music programs, which I don't think are effecting up boot time. I do not have any programs in my startup folder in my start menu. In msconfig I only have checked: realtek drivers, ehtray, sidebar, wmpcfg, java, and kaspersky. I have 4 gadgets running for sidebar, and have aero effects on.
It takes about 2 minutes to load completely. I have a Windows on a 250GB WD Caviar SE. (7200RPM, 16MB Cache, SATAII) Does it make a difference in boot time based on the amount of free space on the C: drive? Because I only have about 30GB free. I really wouldn't mind too much if I didn't have to wait for loading when I see my desktop. It basically takes a minute to load to my desktop, then another minute before I can open up firefox without lag once it finishes. Is there any way to make it stay at the Windows Logo until it is completely finished loading the programs? Basically, when I see my desktop background I want it to be ready to go.
