So Im not sure if this goes here but...I recently reformatted my computer, so I copied over some files to my external hdd. I have a 120GB Western Digital Passport. Well I copied over some pictures, roughly 1.5GB, and they are encrypted and can only be read by my previous, formated computer. Does anyone know how a user can decrypt my pictures? I know of some company that said they might be able to help, for $400, which I would rather not pay.
Thanks in advance

If you've lost the key, then the data should not be decryptable. That's the whole point of encryption.
If you have a weak key, it may be possible to break that and regain access to the data. If there are any flaws in the encryption method used, they might allow a way in.
But if the encryption was done properly, nobody should be able to get that data back.

Right, I have the certificate thumbprint, so is there anyway that I can create a certificate and add that thumbprint so that it has the appearance of the old certificate?
