Hi this is my problem

I have this segate 500gb freeagent hard drive. When I plug it in it gets recognized, but when I go through my computer to click on it, it keeps saying drive not accessible. Why would this happen? Really don't want to send it back grr, I lost the receipt for the drive and the thing it came in, but I have the box, the wires and on the box it says 5 year warranty, so I hope they take it back it comes to that.

please any help would be great, thanks.

Have you partitioned & formatted it? What's disk management say?

Check what Disk Management says. Are you logged on as System Administrator with full permission to access the drive?

That's it! You haven't formatted the drive. You need to format it (do NTFS Quick Format) and it will be ready to go. It says "RAW" because the drive is not formatted. :)
