I couldn't get WD dataguard diagnostics to find my WD drives and scan them. I decided to see if Seagate's version would work and it did! Is there a problem using a different companies' program to scan a drive for errors? Is there a generic program that'll do the same thing?

Thanks

MHDD. It is a DOS program that has a bootable CD.

No problem whatsoever. You can also use Hitachi's Drive Fitness.
