Wow. My girlfriend has it on her laptop. She uses Word a lot and seems to like it. I'm still using Office XP. I might have to ask her to score me a copy.

Wish they'd do this with Office for Mac too...WITH the Student Edition. Walking into the campus bookstore and seeing Office 07 Student Edition at $59 and Office 08 Student Edition for $150 right next to it is really annoying. lol Good thing I have Vista on this thing I guess...if only to run MiniTab and some Steam games.

If you attending a local College/University with a software store on campus they should be selling OEM ones to students for like $29.99.
But thats a good deal up there also.

Ours doesn't...I wish they would though. If they did I'd pick up a couple and give them out as gifts or something lol.

You will LOVE it once you get used to it. Trust me.
Best feature evar - press Alt for keyboard shortcuts.
This is an old deal, but def. worth reposting (as it's ongoing but many don't know about it). Heck, I'd vote to sticky it :p

Biggest difference? Citations and foot/end notes.
2007 takes all of the work away from you. THANK GOD. 5 page papers take me an hour or two now, from start to finish.
In the last 4 days, I did 2 5 pagers and a 1 pager, and still managed to have a life.

this is a good deal, but some schools have it cheaper at their book/electronic stores. For example at my school I got the same thing for 29 dollars.
In addition sometimes it is a better fit for you to get Office Home and Standard, which includes Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and One Note. Not everybody needs publisher and access. Most times Home and Student retails about 149-199 in stores, but I seen it on sale as cheap as 89 dollars at Frys. While this price is more than the ultimate copy listed above, the home and student version (if you don't get the oem version) allows you to install it onto 3 computers.

yea, I guess you can say I'm just resistant to change.... I have Office 2007 Enterprise... our local college as a MSDN Subscription, and I am good friends with the IT guy so I scored a free copy :D

The Office Ultimate copy I have from "The Ultimate Steal" allows 3 installs as well.

Office Ultimate allows for installation on two computers, FYI. Both end up being $30 per computer.
I took advantage of this deal end of last summer and it was a nice surprise.

You sure it's 3? I thought it was two.

They have 2 and 3 keys.
I heard there is a Teachers Edition for 5.
My school offers 2 different ones also.
One is few dollars more but states its good for 3 Computers and one states its good for 2 on the label thingy.
The CDs where produced on different years so maybe they changed the liscensing a bit there.

I get it for 20 dollars through my job. Still haven't bitten and bought it. I prefer the office 2003 feel.

Ah. That makes sense. I rather dislike laptops so I probably glossed over that tidbit last year.

This is a good deal for anyone who's college doesn't already have a program. I hope they don't delete my fiancee's email account in case I can get an OS cheap.

This is a sick deal; I jumped on this last year and I love it MUCH more than the old Office. Once you get used to the layout (doesn't take long at all) then you won't want to go back.

...People actually use Project?
Anyway, I might bite on the deal. I have an install of Office 2007 on my old hard drive and its a pain in the ass to have to reboot and switch over just to use it. Unfortunately I don't know of any way to use it without being logged onto Windows on that HDD.
