How? I googled, came up with a person having the same problem, wanting to remove the history from the indexer with IE8 installed

Any ideas? It is like the option is no where to be found under Modify, can't find where it is pulling that location from, i've searched everywhere to no avail.

When I go to "User/App Data/Local/Microsoft/Windows/History" properties and then advanced I do not show it being indexed. I don't know if it differs from setups but my IE history isn't cached. If yours is you can uncheck it there.

I'm talking about in the Indexer, under Control Panel > Indexing Options

"Internet Explorer History" is in there, and there is no way to remove it, it looks like MS has made it permanent once IE8 is installed. Sure, you can kill the Windows Search service and shut down Indexing completely, but then my Outlook email files aren't Indexed, and I do enjoy the instant email search feature in Outlook. There is also no way to uninstall IE8 once it is installed.

It isn't pointing to a folder exactly, it has an icon that looks like HTML webpage. I browsed to the history folder, and that isn't what it is indexing. That's kinda the point here, I have no idea what exactly it is indexing and I can't remove it, don't know where it is pointing to.

Why do you care? As far as I can tell, the history doesn't pop up when searching the Start Menu or anything.
