Windows 7 Secondary monitor blinks??

When installing software or when coming back to my pc after the monitors have turned off (not sleeping, just monitors off) the secondary monitor blinks off and on. Its not losing the video signal since the monitor light stays green, it just simply turns off and on. Ive tried switching my monitors to see if that was the problem, no go. Ive tried updating to the latest video drivers, ive tried the Riva tuner to try to force a refresh rate if thats what it was.. no love.

The monitor will blink sometimes for over an hour before it decides that its had enough and stops.

Ideas?

yup, known bug as i have hit and filed it many times. nvidia 8x00 series card by chance?

I'm running build 7068 and have not had this problem. I'm running on HD4870X2 and haven't had that problem on my 30"ers. Which build are you on SpponMan-EQ?

check the refresh rate?

I've seen this happen before with some of the laptops hooked up to a docking station.

for some reason Windows uses too high of a refresh rate for the 2nd monitor, and causes it to flicker.

I've been running build 7000 since the beta went public and have dual monitors hooked up the whole time to an 8800GT with no trouble. One is a 24" Acer LCD and the other is a 19" NEC CRT. The Acer is hooked up via DVI and the NEC is hooked up via DVI to DSUB adapter.

Im running 2 viewsonic 22" lcds.

I dont recall the exact model number at the moment, but that really has nothing to do with it. Im running build 7000 of win7.

Ive checked the refresh rate. Its set right. I have an 8800gt vid card.

I get this sometimes when I start up a game of civ4 with my 22" dell lcd plugged into my laptop. the screen will just turn on and off over and over. If I click on the windows logo/start menu a couple times it goes back to the desktop and I have to restart the game.

My spare computer with a Geforce FX 5600 blinks all the time with Vista, and even more so with Windows 7.

With Vista, it'll blink once every 10 minutes or so, but on Windows 7 it'll blink maybe once every 5 minutes. I thought maybe my card's crapping out. I didn't care because it's a spare computer I use to browse forums and anything else while gaming or working on my gaming PC (in my sig).

I know it's not the monitor. I've tried three Samsung LCD monitors (two in my sig) and they all do the same thing.

It bugs the shiat out of me. It doesnt matter what monitor I use.. or what resolution.. or what refresh rate. And its only on the secondary.. never the primary.
