Ok so i just installed Windows 7 x64 on my main pc and everything went smooth. I then attempted to access my server to get some files from it, but windows 7 cannot see my server which is running windows xp x64.

I am completely aware of LLTD, and the patch for x86, but i havent found any info on a patch for x64.

I have file sharing turned on, on windows 7 and network discovery on, and turned off password protected sharing.

I have enabled NetBIOS on both machines but that didnt see to do anything either.

Lastly i tried using the 'Net Use' command, but im not really familiar with it and im not sure how to use it.

This is pretty much a dealbreaker on using windows 7 or not, so i would really appreciate some help with this situation.

wasn't this a 7057 thing? I'm pretty sure I recall something like that. - meaning it probably won't stay this way in future builds

Are they both on the same workgroup? Not sure about XP x64 but the 32 bit version defaulted to MSHOME while Vista went back to just plain old WORKGROUP so I assume 7 is the same as Vista.

Turning off Password Protected Sharing caused me to have the same issues you are. Keeping it on let everything work normally.
